Brian O'Driscoll is a man in demand since his retirement as a player. He's going to be making noise in our ears on Newstalk's Off the Ball as a co-presenter from next month and will be appearing on TV screens as an analyst for BT's coverage of the what nearly everyone will still be calling the Heineken Cup (the new European Rugby Champions Cup) until we readjust.
And now everyone's favourite Fred-lookalike rugby correspondent, Gerry Thornley, is reporting that the French want BOD to be the president of the European club rugby's new governing body EPCR. The former Leinster and Ireland centre is viewed as a compromise option as the French do not want an English man as president.
President O'Driscoll has a nice ring to it. It is highly-unlikely to happen though. That is unless he wants to replace Michael D. in four years time. My vote for that is in the bag.
