One of the lasting memories of The Rugby World Cup has been the performance of the so called "lesser" nations such as Georgia, Romania and Japan.
Many are calling for increased competition for these sides in an attempt to increase the global profile of the game as well as its overall competitiveness.
Argentina have certainly benefited from playing in Rugby's Championship alongside Australia, New Zealand and South Africa and calls are now being made to add Georgia and Romania into the 6 nations in a similar fashion.
The president of European Rugby, Octavian Morariu, has said that the performances of Romania and Georgia at this years World Cup warrant inclusion in the Northern Hemispheres top international tournament.
Teams like Georgia and Romania proved themselves able to compete at the World Cup and need regular fixtures against top European teams.
Argentina have added value to the game and we believe Georgia and Romania could do the same if they get more games.
The greatest legacy of this World Cup could be opening the game up to more countries.
Morariu has promised to bring the issue up when the World Rugby congress meets later this week. Introducing Argentina into a three teamed competition was an easy decision however bringing two teams into a 6 team competition could prove to be messy.
Morariu said that any decision will be made with the interest of the competition in mind.
