Connacht welcomed Toyota Cheetahs to the Sportsgrounds today for their Pro14 clash and ahead of that game TG4 elected to deploy an insightful new feature broadcasting the referee briefs to both teams before the game.
In the past, the Irish broadcaster had coaches mic up while conducting their pre-match warm-ups. In a new move, tonight they broadcast referee Nigel Owens as he discussed what he expects at scrum time from both front-rows and packs.
At one point, Owens explains to the Cheetahs that he has watched their previous games and liked what he saw but wants the back-row to stay bound and not push the front-row in after he calls set.
"I think sometimes your back-row when I'm calling the set, are hitting in a bit as I'm calling the set which may be forcing you forward and causing a bit of instability. Just make sure your back-row follow you in and not push you in really."
