After thrashing Romania 82-8 in their opening game of the Rugby World Cup, it seemed as if the 35 degree Bordeaux heat barely affected the Ireland throughout the 80 minutes.
Following the match, Ireland's Tadhg Furlong spoke to the press, after a solid 50 minute showing, where he excelled in the set-piece and produced some nice carries.
The beloved tight head was questioned about the heat, and many listening could relate to his words, especially the larger of those among us.
Ye not too bad, subs bench was in the shade so I got half an hour there before the game ended.
We're kind of playing and training in it [the heat] for the last month really, we've good exposure to it. Obviously hot like as you can test on yourself.

🗣 "Hopefully it starts cooling down a small bit for the bigger boys!
🗣 "Great to see so many Irish fans in the stadium, we know it's not easy for them. Great to see some Wexford flags too, I'd say they'd an early start.

"But like the game kind of feels a small bit different, of course it does when there's heat involved.
"Mauling and scrummaging ain't the prettiest, you over heat fairly quick, but it's the conditions, both teams have to play in it and hopefully it starts cooling down for the bigger boys."
Ireland will now face Tonga in their second game of the tournament on Saturday, 8 September (kick-off: 8pm).
