It seems that rugby commentators in Ireland are contractually obliged to mention an Irish player's Gaelic Football roots whenever he plucks a rugby ball from the sky. Oddly, that - aside from the occasional kick from an out half's hand - is pretty the only context in which this comparison is pulled out.
Well, it turns out that Tadhg Furlong has given us another context in which it should be used: the rampant, relentless, little-regard-for-your-own-safety barnstorming run through half the All Black pack.
Furlong's run was one of the highlights of the game, and here it is, as he dumps three New Zealand defenders on their respective arses.

This is not a new thing for Furlong. We are tonight indebted to RTE Sports Journalist Darren Frehill for finding this superb piece of footage of the Irish international playing underage football for Horsewood in Wexford.
That is a textbook tackle, too.
Outstanding.
