Paddy Jackson and Stuart Olding are two of three men arrested by the PSNI in relation to alleged sexual offences, according to the BBC.
The IRFU had stated that Jackson was omitted from Ireland's trip to Chicago to face New Zealand due to personal reasons and the BBC are claiming that both he and Olding were interviewed by police over reported incidents that took place in Belfast on June 28th. Both men were then released from custody.
The BBC has learnt that two Ulster rugby players, Paddy Jackson and Stuart Olding, were two of three men arrested by the PSNI in relation to a number of alleged sexual offences reported to have taken place at a property in south Belfast on 28 June.
The PSNI also confirmed to the BBC that a file will be prepared for submission to the Public Prosecution Service.
Ireland face New Zealand on Saturday at 9pm Irish time, and Leinster's Joey Carberry is expected to start on the bench in place of Jackson who was omitted from the squad named on Monday evening.
