Former Scotland full-back and their top try scorer, Stuart Hogg, met up with fellow former Scottish international Jim Hamilton, for an in-formal chat ahead of their team's Rugby World Cup meeting with Ireland on Saturday.

The Pool B game is not far off a knockout encounter - you can check out all the permutations here - with Scotland needing an eight point victory to send Ireland packing from the tournament.

Of course, this would be a major upset given Ireland's form and the talent they possess, and if one were to pick a combined XV between the sides, there would be few Scots.

This is exactly the question that Hamilton posed to the recently retired Hogg, and although he went with a majority Irish backline, he did leave out two world class players.

I'd take Finn. In my opinion he is the best ten in world rugby..... over Johnny Sexton.

It sounds silly but they both offer completely different things. I think Sexton's game management is absolutely incredible. But I think the freedom that Finn gets to play with, you get to see his genuine talent.

"I'd take big Duhan on the wing, ahead of James Lowe," he added.

"Both very, very good rugby players in their own way, but just Duhy's try scoring record.

"James Lowe has got an incredible left foot that makes him massive."

With 100 international caps to his name, Hogg is one of the most experienced fullbacks to ever play, and was extremely complimentary of Ireland's no. 15 Hugo Keenan.

"He's class, he's class. He's got better and better over the past couple of years and if we were to pick a Lions fullback at the minute, he'd be in every day of the week."
