Rassie Erasmus is edging closer to taking full control of the South African national team, as the SARU have today confirmed the departure of Allister Coetzee with immediate effect.
This was a likely development ever since Coetzee torched his relationship with his bosses last weekend with an amazing open letter condemning the "indignity" of working as a "ceremonial coach" alongside Erasmus.
I also find it deeply reprehensible that‚ notwithstanding the fact that I have at all relevant times displayed the utmost good faith towards SARU‚ SARU has not‚ as a minimum‚ returned the favour.
In any event‚ SARU is contractually obliged to exercise utmost good faith towards me. The fact that a decision has been made that I will be reduced to a ceremonial coach should I resist any attempt by SARU to terminate my services does not only constitute an unfair labour practice but again infringes my right to dignity and equality.
The South African Rugby Union have today confirmed Coetzee's departure:
BREAKING: SA Rugby had reached an agreement with Allister Coetzee to part ways with immediate effect. The Rugby Department of SA Rugby will manage the responsibilities of the Bok coach until the coaching and management group for 2018 is confirmed later this month.

Rassie Erasmus will likely now take charge of the 'Boks, meaning that a significant reunion with one some of his erstwhile Munster players could be on the cards: it is possible that Ireland and South Africa collide in a World Cup quarter-final in 2019.
