Connacht may have been subject to defeat at the Sportsground last night, but the venue still managed to create a positive morsel of history after it broke the world record for the most people wearing a hi-vis jacket in one location at once.
The record attempt was organised by a partnership between the province and Portwest as part of 'Be Bright on Safety' campaign which aims to call attention to the significance and responsibility of all road users when it comes to safety.
The record attempt took place at half-time with Connacht trailing their interprovincial rivals, Munster, by seven points. But that didn't dampen the festive atmosphere in Galway.
And the world record attempt is underway!

The province claims approximately 5,000 fans took part in the record attempt, smashing the previous record of 2,499.
Unfortunately, the home side could only muster an unconverted try during the second half and so Munster returned with most of the points on offer from both sides' first interprovincial game of the Christmas period.
Tonight’s World Record attempt made for some great pics! 📸
Certainly made for a unique setting for tonight’s #GuinnessPRO14 interpro.

Next up for Connacht is a trip to Belfast on December 27th to face Ulster who lost to Leinster over the weekend. Meanwhile, Munster will face Leinster in Thomand Park the following day before the final round of interprovincial fixtures take place in January.
