One of the features of New Zealand's impressive tonking of France was the vocal Irish support. A full day before Ireland's quarter-final in the same venue, the Fields of Athenry and Ole, Ole, Ole were rung around the Millenium Stadium.

It clearly made an impact on New Zealanders, with one newspaper reporter getting behind the Irish 2023 World Cup bid. But one of their star players - Sonny Bill Williams clearly enjoyed it:

The Ireland fans have been fantastic this tournament, creating some amazing atmospheres. They've been a credit to the nation, and have definitely increased Ireland's chances of hosting the tournament in 2023.
