We had all resigned ourselves to the fact that the second best Irish fly-half in the professional era had packed his bags for Paris and the cash money of Racing Metro but a report in today's Irish Times from Gerry Thornley speculates that any prospective deal is some way off with the Racing president Jacky Lorenzetti even being quoted by another source as describing Sexton as too expensive. Declan Kidney and Mike Ross to name two have been talking about the wider implications of the move and every other media outlet is reporting the deal as done. A scoop for Monsieur Thornley?
Update: We've told that due to Top 14 rules; Racing cannot announce the deal with Sexton or they would face sanctions. The deal with Sexton is believed to be completed. That is not to doubt the validity of the Times sources either. There is no doubt that the story is the line coming from the club.
