Stuart Hogg let down his side once more with the try line at Scotland’s mercy, as Hugo Keenan once again proved an invaluable asset to his country.
In Ireland’s bonus point Six Nations win over Scotland this evening, Hogg picked up a loose ball and found himself in acres of space with plenty of support in the Irish 22.
Instead of choosing to pass he went for the try himself, and was bundled into touch following a textbook try saving tackle from Hugo Keenan.
It was a pivotal moment in the second half with the score at 14-5 to Ireland and Scotland picking up momentum, trying desperately to work themselves back into the game.

It has not been a good week for Hogg after he was disciplined earlier in the week along with other senior players for breaking curfew protocols.
It also brought up memories of Hogg’s blunder when Scotland faced Ireland in the Six Nations in 2020.
In what was a tight match in 2020, Hogg was over the line, with only the ball to place but it slipped out of his hand as he nonchalantly attempted to put it down with one hand.
Wales’ Josh Adams also produced a class try-saving tackle in his man-of-the-match performance against Italy in the first Six Nations game of the weekend.
In a similar situation, Italy’s Monty Ioane attempted to get on the outside of Adams when a pass inside to support would probably have lead to an Italian try.
WHAT. A. TACKLE. 👀

Keenan’s tackle highlights even further his wide range of skills which seem to grow every tournament, and is contention for Ireland's player of the 2022 Six Nations after his remarkable display against England last week.
Ireland fans now look ahead to France vs England at 20:00, hoping the English can do them a massive favour.
