Munster in the Pyrenees, that's what Simon Mannix is planning on building if you are to believe the latest reports in the French press. Gavin Mortimer, everyone's favourite French rugby correspondent concluded his round-up of the latest from Midi Olympique with this interesting little nugget emanating from Pau.
Toulouse have been heavily linked with a move for Zebo, whose Munster contract expires next summer. However, it seems Pau, otherwise known as Section Paloise, are attempting to convince Zebo to link up with some former teammates.
Mannix, Munster's former back's coach, has brought James Coughlan, Sean Dougall and Paddy Butler to the south west of France in recent seasons and now it seems he's attempting his biggest Munster coup yet. Stade Francais are also name checked in the report but Pau, although not one of the traditional big hitters, may prove enticing to Zebo.
Promotion from the Pro D2 last season has seen them bring in the likes of Conrad Smith and Colin Slade and although they haven't started the Top 14 season in overly impressive fashion, the money on offer may be something that the IRFU have to think about when it comes to negotiating a centralised contract for Zebo.
