Tyler Cassel had a contender for worst rugby tackle of the season at the weekend.
The incident happened during a Holden Cup semi-final clash at Allianz Stadium on Friday night. The Wests Tigers forward launched himself shoulder-first into the jaw of Devon Makoate-Boyce as he was attempting to kick the ball away. Amazingly, Cassel was not sent off for the brain-loosening, torpedo-style tackle and the victim escaped without serious injury.
The 19-year-old's late tackle was classified as a grade four dangerous contact with kicker charge, an offence that may cause him to be sidelined for up to five weeks, or four if he takes an early guilty plea.
