Munster Rugby have added to their back three ranks. With Simon Zebo, Keith Earls and Felix Jones potentially unavailable for the province during the World Cup, Anthony Foley has moved to add to his options of Andrew Conway, Gerhard van den Heever, Denis Hurley, Darragh Sweetnam, and Ronan O'Mahony.
Shane Monahan is the man to join the Red Army on a short term three month contract. Monahan now lists Munster as the third province that he's played for - before he found success with Gloucester.
The flying winger has bulked up quite a bit since his last appearance for an Irish province in 2011. He should be familiar with other Munster back three players. Monahan was part of the Ireland U20 Grand Slam that also featured Ian Keatley, Keith Earls and Felix Jones.
The 28-year-old won't be involved in Munster's first pre-season game against Grenoble. Anthony Foley named a 26-man squad for the game that will take place at Thomond Park tomorrow night. Last year's signing Tyler Bleyendaal will make his first appearance for the Munster senior team as Bernard Jackman's Grenoble continue their Irish tour.
