When Sonny Bill Williams said after the World Cup final that he had witnessed a security guard 'smoke' a young fan with a tackle right in front of him, he wasn't exaggerating.

Feeling empathy with the young fan - who was clearly exuberant that his country had just won the World Cup - Williams presented the kid, named Charlie Lines, with his winner's medal.

Footage of the incident has since emerged, thanks to ALMA Rugby on YouTube.

It was a totally excessive reaction from the security guard.

Williams, along with Nehe Milner-Skudder, immediately brought calm to the situation and also delight to young Charlie's face.
