Ulster's hopes of securing a home Pro 12 final were dashed by Glasgow last night as the Scottish side edged them out 16-14 in a pulsating game at Scotstoun. After the game, an understandably upset Rory Best laid into the Glasgow winger Niko Matawalu for what he perceived as play-acting:
“Obviously our prop shouldn’t have touched him, but at the same time, it’s not football, you can’t have boys diving all over the place trying to milk penalties. It wasn’t to be – we were silly, we probably should have let him go – but come on. Are you telling me that threw him to the ground?”
Best was referring to a late penalty awarded to Glasgow in which Ricky Lutton caught the Fijian around the neck and the winger undoubtedly made a meal of it. That said, Lutton was silly to give the TMO a decision to make.

What's worse than all of this is the lazy "this isn't soccer" argument from Best and some rugby fans alike. Take a step down from that pedestal.
