Ronan O'Gara was in a confident mood when speaking to the press yesterday, ahead of La Rochelle's Top 14 final clash with Toulouse this evening.

La Rochelle are looking for their first ever title, in a league that was established in 1892, and a trophy to add to this season's Champions Cup silverware that they won in Dublin after defeating Leinster.

O'Gara touched upon that game at the Aviva Stadium, and is of the opinion that his side can be even better than they were that day, and that they should have put '40' points on Leinster.

I had the same thought, wondering why this is happening against them. At fifteen it's already difficult, at fourteen it's even more so. Discipline is a behavior, not a word.

We had a good season, 40 good weeks. But we didn't see our rugby, just glimpses, against Exeter we scored 50 points, we should have scored 70.

In Dublin, we should have scored 40, we should also have scored 20 more last weekend (in the semi-finals). When I say that, I don't say it arrogantly. We can't waste this opportunity, it's right in front of us. We have to attack this game.

I am very lucky to have this group. It's just the beginning. But it is important to confirm what we have done in Europe.

O'Gara also showed once again the unflinching confidence and belief he has in his systems and players, and reckons that if La Rochelle 'play their game' tonight, then they are unbeatable.

"We will have to play our game. We have strengths that give us a lot of confidence.

"If we play our game, no team can beat us. Our status has changed, I don't know if we are favorites in this final.

"But we are focused on our goal. We are ready to make history. The best way to prove it is with a great performance on Saturday night.

"It is also difficult to sleep because we have a lot of excitement in us. "
