At the start of this week, Joe Schmidt delivered some positive news on the condition of Robbie Henshaw's hamstring strain. Schmidt said he expected the Connacht centre to play against Romania after missing the opener against Canada.
But fears are growing about whether Henshaw will be able to make the team. The centre has yet to return to full training following the injury, but skills coach Richie Murphy has said he will be given more time to prove his fitness.
Schmidt rarely picks players who haven't been able to train with the team all week. Murphy said that Ireland have a full deck to choose from, but it would be atypical of Schmidt to include Henshaw.
Murphy did give some update on how Henshaw is progressing:
Robbie trained reasonably hard today. He did a lot of running, a lot of passing and again he's in a position where he's returning to full fitness and he's very close.
Ireland will wait until tomorrow lunchtime to name their team for Sunday's game.
