Rob Kearney has had his say about the Irish Rugby punditry class and it's not good news for the elder statesman of the group. Kearney - speaking as a brand ambassador for Newbridge Silver - had plenty of praise for the bright young punditry pups such as Ronan O'Gara and Shane Horgan but it's the man who has done a retirement u-turn that has attracted the full-back's disdain:
"I think some of them do take cheap shots, yeah. They try to sensationalise things, maybe try and look for a little bit of attention. Then, there are others whose opinion I would respect quite a lot.
"I'm sure most people reading would be able to decipher who and what I'm referring to. I won't get hugely into names but the past players, obviously Ronan O'Gara, Shane Horgan, Brent and Conor O'Shea, they all speak a lot of sense."
We're sure George will take all of this in his stride and make rational, reasoned arguments on all of the Irish players today.
In fairness, the rugby side could have it worse, the unholy trinity of Giles, Brady and Dunphy make Hook sound like elevator music.
