It was a procession by the end of Leinster's opening Champions Cup game, with the Blues running in eight tries in a 52-3 mauling of Wasps at the RDS. It was entertaining fare for Leinster supporters, with James Lowe in particular impressing.
Towards the end of the game, a rare occurrence transpired with Leinster flanker Rhys Ruddock inadvertently taking referee Roman Poite out of it on 77 minutes. The Frenchman lay motionless on the ground for a moment and eventually had to leave the field of play for the last minutes, being replaced by another official for the final moments of Leinster's commanding win.
