One Irish star returns home from France next season (with some help from an IRFU friend) but another could be heading for the Top 14.
Gavin Cummiskey in The Irish Times reports that Toulon are trying to tempt Cian Healy by making him "the highest paid forward in Europe." The prop's current contract runs out after the 2015/16 season and Cummiskey says that Healy has been offered a three-year deal by the Top 14 side that may force the IRFU's hand. It could possibly mean the IRFU having to renegotiate the 26-year-old's contract earlier than anticipated. He may also become another player whose contract is topped through private investment.
Toulon is owned by the Mourad Boudjellal who came out today and said that Leigh Halfpenny's contract could be terminated due to injuries.
