As was plainly evident last night, the rivalry between Wales and Ireland is fierce. Yet the fans watching on the telly, we suspect, only know that half of it. Shane Williams told Wales Online this week of the extent of the on-pitch chit chat between Mike Phillips and Ronan O'Gara, and last night Wayne Barnes's microphone picked up a random moment of jabbering that makes it clear that the spirit of sledging is alive and well between the two teams.
Moments before Barnes sent Johnny Sexton to the sin bin for killing the ball near the Welsh try line, his opposite number in red Dan Biggar could be heard bidding Sexton cheerio.

"Cheers Johnny boy, have a good day son." You can hear the line around the 1.16 mark in the above video.
Biggar was near the middle of the field when the penalty was whistled and walked over towards Sexton to make his "Johnny boy" remark. You can see why Irish players looked so sickened to lose last night.
