According to South African outlet Netwerk24, Rassie Erasmus will leave his role as Munster Director of Rugby sooner than expected.
Upon announcing Johann van Graan as new head coach during the week, Munster said that he would work alongside Erasmus 'to ensure a seamless transition.'
That appeared to echo what Munster had said during the summer. When it was announced that Erasmus would be departing Thomond Park after just a season-and-a-half in charge, it was said he would remain the role until late December.
The report from South Africa says that Erasmus' contract will be terminated on October 31st and he will then begin his new job as SARU Director of Rugby on November 1st. Erasmus lawyer, Frikke Erasmus said: "Rassie will start working at SA Rugby on 1 November."
Van Graan - who had worked as the Springboks forwards coach since 2012 - signed a contract with Munster until 2020 and will join the province 'in November'.
