Racing Metro president Jacky Lorenzetti appears to have all but quashed any chances of Leinster out-half Jonathan Sexton moving to the French club this summer.
Quoted on rugby365.fr Lorenzetti said:
The chances that Sexton comes to France are negligible, and in Racing even more.
It had been rumoured this week that Sexton had been made an offer of €750,000 - €800,000 per year by Racing Metro, a number that the IRFU would not be in a position to match. The quotes from Lorenzetti also suggest that he believes Racing Metro and other French clubs have often been used as negotiating tools by Irish players in order to get a more lucrative contract offer from the IRFU.
