Following a team's up and downs can be tough. From the highs of making it to the knockout stages, to the lows of realising your dreams are ended immediately with a loss - fans go through the journey just like the team do. Irish fans should know this more than most.
For one South African rugby fan, the Stormers' loss to the Chiefs in the Super Rugby quarter-final was too much to take. The New Zealand team cut through the Stormers with ease, and in the end it wasn't that close with the Chiefs coasting to a 60-21 victory.
Nevertheless this fan took it hard, and even his girlfriend couldn't console him. The TV cameras picked it up, but the pundits in studio didn't give him sympathy - they mercilessly tore into him:
This is why you never put money on rugby, I don't know how much he bet. I don't know, but at least he's got someone to cheer him up.
No, no, no, she's just breaking up with him. She's saying "I just want to be your friend".
Said Nick Mallett of this poor guy:
If he's crying over the rugby, he should get a life!"#STOvCHI Pic: @Jelleezus https://t.co/wvqtWURszm— IG: blitzbokke7s (@BlitzBokke) July 23, 2016
That's rough.
