Earlier this year, reports emerged that suggested Peter Stringer could make a shock move to Leinster to act as cover during the World Cup. It would certainly have been a divisive move for the Munster legend, however, it's not happening.
Instead, Stringer is leaving Bath to sign for another Premiership club in the shape of Sale Sharks. Stringer will sign a one year contract with Sale who will become his fourth club in England following spells with Saracens, Newcastle and Bath.
Sale Director of Rugby, Steve Diamond, explained just how happy he was to have Stringer on board.
Once I heard that Peter was looking for a new club I made my move and I am delighted he has decided to join us.
Unfortunately for most of us, we won't be seeing Stringer back in Ireland this year. Although you sense Munster fans probably won't be too disappointed by the fact that he won't be pulling on a Leinster jersey.
