Peter Stringer is among those who will leave Sale Sharks at the end of the season the club announced today.
The 39-year-old has been at Sale since 2015. After initially signing a one-year deal, the former Ireland scrum-half penned an extension in February last year.
Director of Rugby Steve Diamond praised both Stringer and Mike Phillips, who is retiring, for their efforts.
They have been great for the club, the squad and the supporters. Nearly 200 caps between them and have helped their teammates and the youngsters coming through so much.
Last season, Stringer was named Sale Player of the Year. Though he played fewer games this season, the former Munster man was still making telling contributions.
Sale were Stringer's fourth Aviva Premiership club following his departure from Munster. He previously played for Saracens, Newcastle and Bath.
