Munster have completed a highly successful mini tour of South Africa, with a win and a draw over the Stormers and the Sharks, to ensure them Champions Cup rugby for next season and serious momentum heading into the URC knockout stages.

In today's 22-22 draw against the Sharks, Munster managed a stirring comeback from 22-3 down, thanks to three second half tries.

The first of these scores came from a penalty try after Sharks sub Aphelele Fassi attempted an intercept from an offside position.

The ref deemed that he had stopped a certain five pointer and awarded the penalty try and a yellow card.

While time was off and the decision was being made, Peter O'Mahony was having some words with the Sharks team and can be heard on the ref mic telling them 'you're wasting your fucking time', possibly making it known that their wind up attempts wouldn't be working on him.

It was an eventful few minutes for O'Mahony, as he got yellow carded straight after kick off for escalating an off-the-ball schemozzle.

The comeback draw against the Sharks was particularly sweet, after Munster's recent pasting by the same side in the Champions Cup round of 16.

Looking back on the comments from Munster head coach Graham Rowntree after that loss, he has proven that he meant what he said, and has shown his analysis skills and tactical nous in spades.

"Technically, tactically, we’ve got to be better. We’ll go back and look at that third quarter of the game because things got away from us straight after the two maul tries.

“Hugely disappointed, as you’d imagine. Three-point game at half-time, then quickly got away from us with two maul tries and then the game got even looser as we’re chasing the game.

“The team can score tries, we’ve proven that but I’ve just said to the lads there now, we’re back down here in three weeks. We’ve got a taste of what this coming to this club and this town and we’ll go back and analyse this game and see where we can better.”
