Paul O'Connell's expected move to French behemoth's Toulon is not as nailed on as it appeared last week. According to Midi Olympique, an old injury has cropped up during tests and the French side may be cooling their interest.
Munster and the IRFU have agreed to release O'Connell from the final year of his contract so that he can sign a two year deal with Toulon. However, that is now in doubt with regular Midi translator (which we are all thankful for), Gavin Mortimer, sharing the the information.
Particularly interesting is the possibility that O'Connell could still end up with Toulon but as an injury replacement after the World Cup. You would assume that means, if the report turns out to be correct, Munster fans may not have seen the last of O'Connell in a red jersey just yet.
Update: Mortimer has since updated his followers with the rather more stark message about O'Connell's expected move.
