Ulster and Connacht's impressive European victories on Friday night were a very good start to the weekend for Irish rugby. The mauling of Toulouse in Belfast was special and Connacht's defeat of Newcastle was what we've come to expect from Pat Lam's men so far this season.
Then came Munster and Leinster. Two defeats, Leinster as good as out of the competition and Munster facing an uphill battle, it's far from ideal. The World Cup hangover and the increased money flying into the English and French leagues have been used as the primary excuses for a disastrous start to the season for Leinster in particular. All in all, it's led to a very glum outlook for Irish rugby.
But never mind, just watch this try from Bandon Grammar School during their 23-13 defeat at the hands of CBC Cork in last week's Bowen Shield final and know that everything is going to be okay.
We're a fickle bunch really.
It may not have overly affected the final scoreline but Bandon's Ben Gur will no doubt be happy to have got his name on the scoresheet with a try like that.
WATCH: Unreal try from Bandon in the Bowen Shield final.
