Numerous reports in France are today linking Paddy Jackson with a move to France following the revoking of his contract with Ulster and Ireland in the wake of the Belfast rape trial verdict.
Both Paddy Jackson and Stuart Olding were acquitted of raping the same woman in June 2016 with Jackson also cleared of sexual assault. Two of their friends, who faced related charges, were also found not guilty.
Catalan club Perpignan are believed to be on the verge of signing Jackson, with RugbyRama reporting that talks are at an advanced stage and the transfer will be completed within a matter of days.
Perpignan were promoted to the Top 14 - the top division in France - last season, meaning that Jackson would be playing top-flight rugby if he makes this move.
Stuart Olding made the move to France last month. The centre signed a two-year deal with Brive, who last season went in the opposite direction to Jackson's putative new club and will play in the second division next year.
