Paddy Jackson's time at Perpignan may last just a single season.
The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to Perpignan's fellow Top 14 side, Lyon.
Jackson joined Perpignan during the summer on a two-year deal.
The move came two months after both Jackson and fellow Ulster player, Stuart Olding, were found not guilty of raping the same woman in 2016. The IRFU and Ulster subsequently held a review regarding both players' conduct. As a result of that review, both were cut loose.
According to French Lyon newspaper, Le Progrés, Jackson was spotted in the city last week.
It's said that Jackson has a release clause in his contract which could be activated if Perpignan are relegated from the Top 14. They are currently bottom of French rugby's top tier, nine points behind 13th-placed Agen.
If he joins Lyon, Jackson would be a replacement for French international out-half, Lionel Beauxis, who has agreed to join Oyonnax next season.
