Is it just us or is this a creepy description? CJ Stander was already well known to Irish rugby fans before last weekend's Man of the Match performance against Wales but now the rest of the Six Nations are coming around to his brilliance too.
Stander gave an all-action performance on his Ireland debut, racking up 23 carries and making over 40m. If you were worried about how Stander's steamrolling provincial performances would translate to the international stage you needn't have been, as he slotted in seamlessly from the first minute.
Today's back row to face France looks even more powerful, with Sean O'Brien coming in at openside to accent the in-form Stander and the equally impressive Jamie Heaslip.
Ireland look to be in such a good place in the back row that it is no surprise that some foreign media outlets are writing positive pieces about the unit. One such story appeared in Midi Olympique yesterday.
The paper is usually known for their Match Magazine-esque transfer rumours but according to the Telegraph one of their writer's used a very sensual term while referring to CJ Stander's wife, Jean-Marie.
"L’Equipe ran a profile in Friday’s edition entitled “Stander: the Boer with the green heart” while Midi Olympique carried a piece entitled “So quickly adopted” which made mention of his “delectable” wife Jean-Marie Neethling."
There is something very French *cough* sleazy *cough* about that description. Hopefully, Stander either takes the remark as a compliment and plays out of his skin with pride or becomes jealous of this stubbled Frenchman's flattery and goes out wanting to prove a point.
Either way, it is hard to see how CJ Stander doesn't bust a dozen French players this afternoon.
