Just moments before Tiernan O'Halloran had kicked a drop goal at the Cardiff Arms Park to put Connacht 16-13 ahead, Jack Carty had missed an opportunity from a similar position.
It looked like the game was destined to be a draw. However, after a 22 dropout from Cardiff, a Caolin Blade break got Connacht into position to again work a shot at goal.
Though the position was not ideal, it was far from a clean pocket for O'Halloran, the fullback managed to get the shot off with sufficient elevation to put his side ahead.
Shortly after, Craig Ronaldson would kick a penalty to ensure victory for Connacht.
