Knowing someone who is involved in a World Cup final is a big deal. Even knowing someone with tickets is a claim to fame for some people. So when the people of a small village know the man with the whistle for the final - you'd expect local pride to be through the roof.
And rightly so. The village of Mynyddcerrig in Llanelli in Wales unveiled this banner for Nigel ahead of his biggest game in the sport.
Had a tear to my eye seeing this. People of Mynyddcerrig my home village you make me so proud of where I am from. pic.twitter.com/c41f2HWkhd

It's a great tribute to the best referee in the world.
