Munster have now added South Africa Select XV to their collection of international opponents they have taken down.
It wasn't their usual home of Thomond Park, but the decision to host the game in Pairc Uí Chaoimh added to the build-up and the match day atmosphere, while also bringing a record crowd to a Munster match held in the province.
An early try from Shane Daly, which probably the pick of the bunch, kicked-off the type of performance we have seen countless times from Munster on days like these, and the will and desire lasted until the 80th minute, as they prevented South Africa from even making it close a game.
A Sweary Interview From Paddy Patterson
Such was the brilliance of the occasion, that man-of-the-match Paddy Patterson gave a remarkably sweary post-match interview - we counted four f-bombs - and was let away with it.
"It was some craic," began Patterson.
All we wanted to do today was play a bit of ball, and fuckin' we did that, so it was fuckin'.... I'm delighted, I'm delighted.
"Last few weeks we've definitely been building, and we haven't been getting the results. With the Leinster and Ulster game I thought we lost them but we were playing good rugby and we were doing what we wanted to do, just not getting the results."

"And today we just wanted to have a crack and we felt the pressure was off a bit, and we went out there and we did that, so it was fuckin', I'm delighted," Patterson continued.
"The pack fronted up, jesus, some of the hits that were going in was insane. I couldn't believe it, like the pack definitely fronted up in the scrum as well, they did so well, even winning penalties, so happy to be behind them.
"I knew from the Zombie at the start, I knew it was going to be special, so it was fuckin', I'm delighted."
The Virgin Media pundits couldn't help themselves from giggling after Patterson's interview, with Joe Molloy even commenting, "never has a man dropped an f bomb on live television with such aplomb."
We think a Munster PR person may be having a few words with the scrum-half before his next media appearance.
