Munster have confirmed the signing of versatile Australian forward Jed Holloway on a short-term deal.
The 26-year-old will provide World Cup cover with Jean Kleyn, Tadhg Beirne, Peter O’Mahony and CJ Stander in Ireland's squad.
Holloway, who plays for the Waratahs, has made 52 Super Rugby appearances and will join from the end of September before returning to for the start of the southern hemisphere season. Speaking earlier this year, Johann Van Grann did suggest outside of scrum-half Nick McCarthy the only Munster signing would be a short-term deal.
Elsewhere, the province have confirmed former players Paddy Butler and Peter McCabe are currently training with the squad for their pre-season preparation. Munster will play London Irish in a friendly on Friday in Irish Independent Park.
