In the two weeks leading up to last Saturday's URC final, Munster fans were all over social media, riling up support, getting as much people as they could hyped for occasion, and helping in the surge of travelling support that made their way to Cape Town.
They did their first job beautifully, with up to 5,000 fans making the long journey to South Africa, and went onto their next task which was to make a positive impression while there.
Judging by the reaction of South Africans on Twitter, this job was also completed with flying colours, as they received many complimentary messages, with journalists such as Brenden Nel and Brandon Portnoy shouting them out.
Portnoy also shared a fantastic clip of Munster fans and hotel staff singing along to the South African national anthem.
South African Fans Were Loving The Munster Supporters
Whoever you support, there are very few sides who can pitch up for a final away from home, 15000km away in front of 55000 fans and dominate the defending champions like that.

For the me the big winner of the weekend was the URC. Seeing so many Munster fans in Cape Town was amazing and they loved being here and they made the most of it. There is probably no Guinness left in CT but I know when we go over we’ll make sure they run out of brandy and coke.

While it wasn't the result we wanted, the fans and atmosphere at the STO-MUN final was epic. Seeing the traveling Munster fans celebrate just brings home what makes sport so special, and why live sport can't be beaten. pic.twitter.com/GWOleIy0tF

One of the best stories from the weekend came courtesy of Supersport presenter Cato Louw, who shared a lovely anecdote of her and her fiance's meeting with Craig Casey and his father Ger.
Sweet moment we had with the Casey's this week: my fiance & I went for dinner in Mouille Point last week and our table was next to Craig and his dad (below). We were very keen to chat to them as we were in Limerick late last year and it was so cool to have all the Munster fans...
they were wrapping up the bill and Ger (Craig's dad) was having some wine while Craig was drinking water, Ger then leaned over to our table and gave us the rest of his bottle of Simonsig Pino (more than half was left) and he smiled and said enjoy! So genuine & wholesome.
We were also invited to their holiday town, which for the life of me I can't remember (it was the rest of the wine). My point with this? I know the Stormers lost & it really was sad given what they have done over the last two season's, but they also did this...
..brought these clubs & people to us in CPT & SA. Connecting the North with the South through sport - the banter was good, the sportsmanship was awesome, the competition is strong and the URC has done exactly what sport should do Thank you Munster! And thank you Casey's.
