There's going to be a big space to fill around Thomond Park this season but now we know the man who has been charged with filling it. Paul O'Connell will be impossible to replace for what he brought off the field but it seems former Australia international Mark Chisholm is the man tasked with the unenviable challenge of stepping into his position on the field.

Chisholm has signed a two year deal after a four year spell with Bayonnne came to an end. The 33 year old second row made 58 appearances for the Wallabies between 2004 and 2011, even going head to head with O'Connell during the Autumn internationals in 2009.
Munster Rugby CEO Garrett Fitzgerald has told supporters what he expects Chisholm to bring to Thomond Park.
Known for his athleticism and physicality he will be a huge addition to the side with his abilities as a leader also proven. We look forward to the talent and wealth of experience Mark will bring to the province.
