Former Connacht fullback Mils Muliaina has been cleared of all charges following a sexual assault case. All charges against the 100 times capped All Black were dropped after the Cardiff Crown Court found that there wasn't enough evidence.
The accusation dates back to March, when a 19-year-old claimed that Muliaina assaulted her in a Cardiff nightclub following a Connacht game.
Muliaina said he was relieved that the case was brought to an end:
I can still hold my head up high and as the judge said this is no stain on my character. I have always known that I did not do anything wrong.
Muliaina will now travel back to New Zealand to be with his son, before he starts his season with his new club Zebre.
