Back in April, Sky Sports broadcast the rather incredible pictures of Mils Muliaina being arrested in the aftermath of Connacht's Challenge Cup exit at the hands of Gloucester.
At the time, a statement from Gloucester police confirmed that the former All Black had been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault in Cardiff in March. Now, confirmation has come from South Wales Police that Muliaina has been officialy charged with that offence.
A statement sent to the The New Zealand Herald outlined the details of the charge.
Mils Muliaina has been charged with sexual assault on a female aged 16 or over. He is scheduled to appear at Cardiff Magistrates Court on the 7th August 2015.
The 34 year old departed Connacht at the end of the season after a less than stellar spell that was overshadowed by the arrest at the beginning of April. It is expected that Muliaina will plead not guilty when he appears before Cardiff Magistrates Court in August.
