In the post-match press conference on Saturday evening, England coach Eddie Jones was adamant that Mike Brown had done nothing wrong when his boot made contact with Conor Murray's face with less than ten minutes remaining at Twickenham. It was an incident which left the Ireland scrum-half requiring stitches close to his eye.
Jones was pushed by an Irish journalist as to whether or not he felt Brown's actions were reckless or not.
Well, the referee adjudicated on it mate and it was fair. If the ball's on the ground then you're allowed to kick it aren't you.
Mike Brown is of a similar opinion to Jones.
In the early hours of Sunday morning, Brown replied to a fan on Twitter who had decried the bitterness towards the England fullback on Twitter.
@dionwesty thank you! Video ref clearly showed I didn't and kicked the ball.

The question now is whether or not Brown will be cited. The citing window closes 48 hours away the final whistle of a game. That means an anxious wait for 6:45 pm this evening for both Brown and Eddie Jones.
Update: Brown will not be cited for the incident.
