You are probably already aware that Italian prop Martin Castrogiovanni is a bit of a character.
If you're not, then may we suggest reading up on his fantastic rant while on the books at Leicester, or the brilliant video he put out after he missed a Six Nations match due to having his face attacked by a friend's dog.
The larger than life Italian has many odd stories attached to his legacy, but few stranger than what we learned after it emerged that his reasons for missing Racing Metro's Champions Cup semi-final win over his former club Leicester last year didn't really add up.
Castrogiovanni had originally told his employers that he needed to return to South America for family reasons, however, when images of him partying with PSG players in Las Vegas emerged it became clear that all was not as it seemed.
This photo of the prop at what appeared to be a Vegas pool party prompted a statement from his employers.
And the statement reads:
Following the publication of photographs in the media today showing Martin Castrogiovanni in the company of Paris Saint-Germain footballers [last] weekend at a hotel in Las Vegas, while the entire membership of the club was in Nottingham to play a semi-final of the European Cup, Racing 92 has decided to suspend the player and to launch a legal procedure.
He does what he wants.
He was also pictured with several PSG players such as David Luiz, Marco Veratti, and Zlatan celebrating the club's Ligue 1 title win a month prior to that, but that was at a restaurant in Paris... Presumably, he was such a hit at that event that the PSG lads decided to invite him to Vegas and, again presumably, he thought that travelling to Nottingham with every member of the Racing Metro staff would be shite in comparison.
