Stephen Ferris has been out for the last few months with an ankle injury and the intial hope was that he would be back in time for Ulster's Heineken Cup tie with Saracens or possibly even for the end of the 6 Nations. Ulster's hopes have been dealt a blow with the news that Ferris' injury will possibly keep him out for the rest of the season. What's even worse for the rampaging flanker is that the lack of game time means he will also likely miss out on a chance to tour with the Lions. This makes a second successive tour where injury has ruined his chance at making a run at the test team.
A decision on Ferris' treatment will be made by Ulster in the next few weeks.
