It felt like Munster's URC semi-final win over Leinster last weekend was long overdue.

Munster have been living in the shadow of their provincial rivals for over a decade, failing to perform on the biggest stage as Leinster continued to pick up major honours. The gap between the sides had only been widening over that period, although there will be some hopes that this particular trend is now reversing.

While there is still a long way to go before the two sides could be considered on a level footing, the win at the Aviva on Saturday evening will inspire some confidence that such an outcome is not as far fetched as it once was.

The reaction from the Munster camp after the game told you how big they considered this result to be.

Limerick radio commentators loved Jack Crowley drop goal

Jack Crowley's winning drop goal is something that will live in memory of Munster fans for years to come.  It was the type of moment that they have not had enough of in recent years, as suggested by the outpouring of emotion that accompanied it.

That was especially true of the coverage of the game on Live 95. The drop goal was greeted with some fantastic commentary on the Limerick radio station.

Donn O' Sullivan and Barry Murphy were in the commentary booth and it's fair to say they enjoyed the moment of magic from Crowley.

Now that's what you call passion!

Munster will be hoping that the final against Stormers next week produces some similar drama, although their supporters might struggle to live through another 80 minutes as nervy as what we witnessed at the weekend.

If we know one thing about Munster, it's that they never do things the easy way.
