Welsh rugby international Liam Williams has landed himself in hot water after he posted an image of himself dressed as Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony online. The Scarlets player was out on a fancy dress party with a few of his teammates:
Williams removed the image from his twitter page but initially refused to apologise for the costume:
Shut up you meg. “@OffkeyInd: @SanjayWills what the fuck is wrong with you? Idiot.”

Wales online among others are reporting that Show Racism the red card have criticised the costume. The same report though makes the point that Williams has worked with that organisation before.
Williams did make an apology soon after:
I am very sorry for any offence caused by my actions. I'm not a racist and there was no malice behind it.

And the Scarlets made a statement:
"Scarlets is fully committed to eradicating discrimination and promoting equality for both staff and our customers by treating people fairly and according to their needs.
"Scarlets is proud of its record in promoting equality and non-discriminatory behavior amongst all our employees and this applies to the way we behave to members of the public and to other employees."
Can we all agree he was just a bit stupid?
