While Leinster are now entering the business end of their rugby season, there has already been some discussion about what their squad is going to look like for the 2024/25 campaign.

The province have already announced one big name addition to the side, with RG Snyman set to join from Munster this summer. Of course, that move has caused quite a bit of controversy ahead of the South African's switch from Thomond Park to the RDS.

It is likely that Leinster will have at least one more big name come through the door, with prop being a position in need of strengthening. Michael Ala’alatoa will leave in order to join Clermon Auvergne, leaving a gap in the squad at tighthead prop.

It remains to be seen who will fill that spot in the squad for Leinster next season, although there has been quite a bit of speculation that Australia star Taniela Tupou could be on his way to Dublin.

A 51-cap Wallabies international, Tupou is likely to be on the move this year due to the financial struggles of current side Melbourne Rebels. Montpellier are also thought to be pursuing the player.

Speaking ahead of Leinster's game against the Bulls this weekend, Leo Cullen gave a coy response when asked about the rumours that the 27-year old could sign for the province in the near future.

There’s a lot of speculation at the moment now.

We’re very much focused on the here and the now. He’s (Tupou) certainly big and powerful anyway, isn’t he?

We admire lots of players out there, so we do, but we’ve nothing official to announce unfortunately.

He certainly did not shoot the suggestion down.

Leinster are already well-stock in the front row, but the addition of Taniela Tupou would certainly cement their place as one of the most talented squads in European rugby for 2024/25.
