Leinster pair Cian Healy and Sean O'Brien are getting closer to a return to play. Both have returned to contact training in recent weeks, with Healy overcoming a hamstring tear sustained in training, while Sean O'Brien has been rehabilitating from an infection following shoulder reconstruction.
It's possible both will be fit to face Wasps in the crucial winner takes all Champions Cup clash in Coventry, with Leinster reporting no other injuries in their camp unlike the other provinces. Heaslip appears to be fine after being subbed off at half time as a precaution following a further knock to his damaged shoulder.
Competition rules dictate that only one of Healy and O'Brien will be eligible to play at the weekend should either of them be fit and ready. Teams are allowed to register two additional players during the pool stages of European, one of whom must be a front row player.
Leinster will be allowed register an additional three players should they qualify for the next round of the competition.
Leinster registered Jamie Hagan in December and thus will only have room for one of O'Brien or Healy for Wasps. They will have to decide before noon tomorrow which player to register in time. The smart money appears to be on Healy, should either be fit, with Leinster relying on Michael Bent at loosehead for Castres's visit, and he seems to be further ahead on the road to recovery than O'Brien.
