Wales' victory over Italy on Saturday came with a serious setback to their World Cup hopes.
Ten minutes from the conclusion of the game, Leigh Halfpenny's right knee buckled underneath him and he was stretchered from the field. It compounded another loss which happened earlier in the match when scrum-half Rhys Webb left the game due a serious looking ankle injury.
The Welsh Rugby Union today confirmed that Halfpenny will miss the tournament due to an ACL injury.
Disappointing update: Leigh Halfpenny ruled out of @rugbyworldcup with ACL injury. Further assessment required. Get well soon Leigh!

According to L'Equipe, Halfpenny ruptured knee ligaments and will be out of action for six months.
